Mía, Tristán y Alaia.

I left home one of those days when you just go out for the sake of going out, and thank goodness. I was in my car and, on the way back, on the road, in the distance, I see something very small on the ground. As I get closer I see that it's a tiny cat.

I put it in my car, I couldn't look away! And I continue my way home thinking about what I had to do now (I was quite a novice).

I was driving along, thinking and thinking and suddenly, another cat on the road! It was the same as Tristan, they were brothers.

So I put Mia in the car, drove on and paaaam, another cat! Alaia.

I turned around and checked that there were no more babies and checked if their mum was there. It was a secondary road, in the middle of a village in Toledo, where there was nothing around at all... It looked like someone had been throwing them out of a car. Call me wrong.

The three babies were malnourished and dehydrated, they needed quite a few days to recover, but they did.

It was an incredible experience, and one that opened the doors of my home to the following foster homes, bringing the total to 110.

Today they are 4 years old, Tristan lives in Barcelona, Mia in Seville and Alaia in Madrid, the three of them have beautiful families who adore them infinitely.

I still remember how much I cried when I gave them up for adoption, because fostering is not easy, and it hurts, but it is VERY necessary.

Long live foster homes!
